About This Game A tribe of brave warriors lies deep inside the Forest. Tabata, the Chieftain, is terribly sick and Raoni, the Wiseman, is taking care of him. A powerful Forest Spirit took over Tabata’s body and only an ancient ritual can undo the spell. Unfortunately, the most important ingredient is missing: a feather of a rare harpy named Uiruuetê. Aritana, against Raoni's decision, embarks in this dangerous mission. The sacred feather can only be found at the top of the highest mountain, through the lands of the man-eater Mapinguari. Aritana is a platform game which the main aspect of its mechanics is the possibility of changing your stance. This stances define attributes such Speed, Jump Force, Attacks and Special Abilities. The player must choose between these stances to overcome obstacles and fight the Spirits of the Forest in a quick, intuitive and fun gameplay mechanic. Aritana will learn new moves and abilities throughout the game and combo movements will help him fight the forest spirits. Meanwhile, Mapinguari will chase him constantly, forcing battles that require concentration and mastery of all skills learned. With the help of the Shaman's Staff and the benefits of each stance, Aritana will be able to search for the Lost Artifacts and gain access to the Spirit World. This place is a labyrinth that holds pieces of medicinal leaves which, when collected in large quantity, can increase the player's maximum health. The game follows the old platformer style and brings a high difficulty for those who are careless. Mastering different attacks and avoiding enviroment traps are key elements for the game. Don't get me wrong, this is still a solid platformer that is fun and plays very well, however I didn't find anything particularly special about it. The story cutscenes really could have used some english narration or annotation as they lacked comprehension without imo. Very easy to finish.. lives are almost infinite thanks to the 'combo system' and boss fights are a complete pushover. Not highly memmorable.. but still good fun!. Very Good Game, remember me donkey kong with all the jumps and etc. A fast game, with no more than 4 hours of gameplay.This game remind me some old school platform from ps1, so I really enjoyed it.I've got a little bit confused about the story (who is the man they are trying to save? what's that boss?), and the items u find through game, but the visuals are really nice!sometimes I had this feeling of flow, while using the right combination of atacks to get through some parts of the game,and that was really awesome!I would say this is a 7/10 game. So, for 3-4h, its worth a try.. This plataform game is not the most complex one, but is fun, very good looking and has an amazing soundtrack. And it's full of Brazilian culture. A must have game, And if you want, you can use an XBOX controller. Much better tham the K+M controls in my opinion. A pleasant platformer. It utilizes some fun, unique controls to make it more fluid. The art is beatiful and the songs make u turn up the volume!Congrats guys!. This game is amazing! It came within a bundle that I wanted to buy because of other titles but Aritana was a happy surprise to me.. In the later levels and in the end-boss fight you have to put your stick into the ground by pressing the "down" key - especially the end-boss fight cannot be finished without it. Good graphics.Good and precise gamemechanics.Nice maps.Good music.Small good story.Later levels are a bit more arbitrary if you don´t want to spend your time learning the patterns of the enemies you can use to go further in the game. Not that good. Definitely worth a play.
